questions of the day #21-27

21a. is there some unwritten rule that the men ice skaters must wear the gayest costumes ever made?
21b. and do they try to out-gay each other with all the silk (um everyone) and feathers (evan lysacek) and sequins (florent amodio) and bare-chestedness (little boy from kazakhstan)?
21c. do they all know they will never be as gay as johnny weir?
22. can anyone tell me the difference between a toe-loop and an axle, a salchow and a plain loop? because they all look the same to me. (rhetorical; i don't actually want/need to know the differences, if any.)
23a.why is it that i only care about ice skating--excuse me--figure skating during the olympics?
23b. do people ever want to watch it any other time?
24a. is ice dancing the same as figure skating but without all the jumps?
24b. isn't the only reason people watch the ice skating/dancing to see the people fall doing the jumps?
24c. so, why watch ice dancing at all?
25a. why is the little boy from kazakhstan actually korean?
25b. and the one from france actually brazilian?
26. did i just hear some instrumental hip-hop in the brown frog's routine? (i can answer this one: yes, yes i did.)
27a. why do the only events i want to watch have to be shown way past my bedtime?
27b. and why do i stay awake to watch them anyway, knowing that the wee one will be up way before i'm ready to get out of bed?
