i never did like the xylophone
and since that is exactly what my ribs have become to our wee babe, i've decided i downright hate the freaking thing. don't mistake, i absolutely love that i can feel baby h kicking and punching and turning and swandiving in his vast uterian aquarium; i wouldn't trade it for anything in the world (except perhaps a monster mtn dew). however, my kid only wants to play rockband when mommy wants to sleepy. how lucky a girl am i? *sigh* baby h lets me know all day long that he cannot wait to come out and play. double *sigh*

oh happy day!
this guy...

...yeah, it's his birthday. he's old. or getting there. (funnily enough, he hasn't changed much from this picture though. down to the shoes even.) and i could sit here and tell you all these reasons of why i love him and think he's wonderful and amazing and the handsomest hunk of a man i've ever met, but why would i waste time telling YOU that when HE'S sitting right here beside me?

update
i caught the fraudulence early enough that the good old credit union didn't have to allow the charges to process. hurrah! that's $500+ dollars in my pocket. (or in travis the landlord's pocket to be precise.)
dolla dolla bills y'all
so, as i was checking my bank acct this last friday (i had to make a payment to the hospital, go figure, and needed to make sure my paycheck had been deposited) i noticed there was a $500+ discrepancy in my current v available acct balances. now, what that means is the amount of money that was IN my acct was $500+ less than what SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN my acct. the more i thought about it, the more this didn't seem right. i mean, i like to spend money, don't you worry. however, i haven't ever made a $500+ purchase and then forgot about it. i had mor do some sleuthing and...someone fraudulently charged $100+ to pacific sunwear, $200+ on a watch, $200+ on a diamond men's wedding band size 9 and $1 to napster. ($1 to napster, guy from kentucky who hijacked my acct? you're honest about buying a song on napster but feel no guilt or remorse about stealing $500+ from me? dick.) anyway, the wonderful thing about this is that the bank has to allow the charges to process through before doing anything about it. i will get my money back--all $500+ of it--but it could take up to 14days. 14 days?! who has that kind of time when there is napster music to buy?
note to big d: please don't call telling me and mor to be more careful with our personal and financial info. trust me that we have definitely learned our lesson. a $500+ lesson, nonetheless.

i have more friends than you
i thought the popularity contest was over as of may 2000, when i graduated high school. and now you're telling me it isn't? because facebook is the new popularity contest? that runs all day everyday for the rest of its existence? gay.
this week i decided that since one of my best friends was refusing to return my phonecalls and emails (who cares that american cell phones don't work in europe?) i would resort to something i swore and promised i would never do: i facebooked him. (that you can verbify it is too much for me. googled, yes fine great. but facebooked? double gay.) using mor's acct because no way in h-e-double hockeysticks would i create my own acct. i shudder at the thought even.
after i logged in, i was almost appalled at what greeted me. did i know that so-and-so added the facebook app to their iphone? or that that-guy changed his profile picture? or that this-girl-i-used-to-know-8-yrs-ago-and-haven't-talked-to-since "is eating"? no, i didn't know these things. but, more importantly, i didn't CARE about these things. and who would? or should? tmi, people. tmi.
now, i can understand and even somewhat appreciate that people want to stay in touch with friends who are far away (or don't answer emails or phonecalls, tristan), but why should i care that you just posted on johnny's wall? or added kelly jones as a friend? i shouldn't. but, there it is. letting me know your every move. thanks, facebook, for sensationalizing ev.er.y.thing.

24 down, 16 to go
it really is hard to believe that we are only 16wks away from meeting baby h. i mean, he's already become quite well-acquainted with my pelvic bone, but to get to SEE him, to HOLD him, to smooch and love on him...man, i can. not. wait.
i had my dr's appt today, and allow me to go off on a tangent: mor is so rad. like seriously so rad. how many other soon-to-be first-time daddies have gone to every single appt with their pregnant wives? not many. i dare say, very few. i love that guy. end tangent. i've gained about 11lbs all together; after losing about 15lbs there at the beginning, 11lbs is a pretty big accomplishment i think. the babe's heart is racing along at 147 bpm. and my ever-expanding uterus (cue: eww) is measuring a little on the large side: 28cm. the nurse said that you should measure in cm the same number of weeks you are, meaning i should be 24cm because i'm 24wks. wrong. i'm not worried though. who doesn't LOVE chubby babies?! this girl (and her family) sure do! other than that, i've got some stellar sciatic pain and toight (channel austin powers) tummy skin. dr jones says that we should have a baby no later than 10 may, so...everybody, start shopping for tickets for a chance to schmuggle our tiny (or maybe not so much?) baby.
