question of the day #32

who dresses craig sagers? i mean really, who dresses him? when you have coaches more concerned with sager's, ahem, suits than with team strategy, you know you've got a problem with your wardrobe.
sager asked phil jackson what his strategy was for the second half of a 2009 lakers-rockets game, and this is what jackson answered: "try to get you away from my bench with that bozo the clown suit you've got on there. scaring my people. look at this thing."
kevin garnett even went so far as to advise sager to burn his entire outfit.
ha! love craig, hate the suits. HATE the suits. H-A-T-E the suits.
(i tried my darnedest to find a picture of the lakers-inspired suit but to no avail. my apologies.)

conceited much?

i was checking out a photo blog tonight and had a thought, that was this: i wonder if these people realize how cute their children could have been had she been me and he'd been mor. and after i thought this thought, i thought does that make me the meanest/most conceited person alive or just the proudest mom with the cutest baby? perhaps a dash of the former with a heaping spoonful of the latter. yep, sounds about right.
as though you needed proof, pff

question of the day #31

if authors are going to be writing a series that i want to read, why can they not publish all books in the series at the same time instead of writing and publishing, writing and publishing? i say "write, write, write, then publish, publish, publish." don't you agree?

gary indiana indiana indiana

(but not really gary, just a shout-out to mdw, dds msd.)
we got to visit everyone in indiana this last week and were lucky enough to be there over fig's actual birthday. it was so nice to have gma connie and pa john, grandpa dave, aunt may and uncle jase and the kids etc etc love on him. and us. we didn't do too much while we were there, but it was awesome to just be home.
fresh off the worst flight of my life, not because of the babe but the turbulence (mor compared it to the movie "hook" but worse)
playing with all of gma connie's fun toys (he loved that pound puppy bride at his feet, weird)
a deck swing just my size! he even knew how to use his momentum to keep it going
eating snacks on gma's rug, just like the big kids
the best birthday cake EVER! thanks, aunt mi (and the aunties)!
my mom liked to tell everyone this story about the cake "decorations"
we were at the party store and she asked me what i wanted to put on the cake. "the little animals like the aunties used to do," i said. "what kind of little animals?" she asked. "the cheap ones," i said. and there they were; this menagerie of safari animals all for like $2. (if we'd really done it up like the aunties, there would have been a simple spiral candle instead of the polka dot 1. 'cause that's how they rolled, those aunties.)
our bug is a year old!
yummm...
the birthday cupcake
so good the rest of his little body wanted to try it out
we are a happy family (on our way to ivanhoe's)
would you believe thatch is 4months YOUNGER than fig?
breakfast with nancy at concannon's (a flattering picture of us all)
telling gma connie about the elephants
the closest a tiger has ever come to the fence when we've been at any zoo, very cool
the walruses were well-behaved this time
after dinner at pizza king with gpa dave, uncle rog and joyce, at which r&j gave us a heineken can filled with change. we love those guys! esp that gpa dave
making footprints for gma's garden, take two
the grass really IS greener in indiana
lulled to sleep by the swing, too sweet
on the big day
we love you. and miss you already.
now it's your turn to come see us. i mean it's only fair. right? right.
