yesterday, we were going to a bookstore to pick up a cookbook for your mom. as we pulled into the parking space, finn noticed a suburban was parked in the next space over. the door of the suburban opened and a skinny, tan girl with her blonde hair in a headband hopped out. she was wearing soccer duds, just like you. she got onto the sidewalk and started skipping away. finn could not get out of our car fast enough and ran after her yelling "ains! ainswe! hey, ains!" when the girl didn't turn around, it took him a minute to realize it wasn't you. and when he did, he was devastated. he got big tears in his eyes and asked why you had to go back to washington; he wanted you stay here forever.
he loves you, p. he misses you like crazy. i cannot tell you how many times since you went home he has asked for me to call aunt erica and see if you can come over to play and stay the night. while he loves your brothers and aunt may's kids, you hold a special place in his heart. and i'm pretty sure you always will.
