golden

preface: way back in october, we called the humane society and scheduled penny to be spayed. the earlier appt they had was february 5. seriously. (apparently we aren't the only cheapskates in the beehive state. imagine that: cheap mormons. ha!) it was only going to cost us $40, which was WAY less than the $120 vet offices down our way charge, but we had to have her checked in by 7:30a, meaning we would have had to leave our ughpt no later than 6a! nocando. uh-uh. flipping through the daily junk coupons we get, i found a useful one: dog spaying/neutering for $60 at a clinic only 5min away. the second week of january, i rang them up and got penny scheduled for the 27th, mor's birthday.
when i mentioned this to mor and asked if he cared that it was on his birthday (his golden birthday even), he said it was great, he couldn't be happier.
"to not have to go through penny being in heat ever again...i cannot think of a better birthday present. it's the gift that keeps on giving."
so, that's how we celebrated; we took penny to have her ladybits removed.
okay, we also got mor a tube from bike peddler, moseyed around target and old navy, drove up to pei wei for dinner with schiz, and then...well, you don't need to know what we did then, do you?
happy golden birthday, mor. i love you to the moon and back.
